- Our Sunday Service is at 10.00am
- It’s a 90 minute service with worship, communion and biblical teaching
- There are programmes for children from age 0 to school year 9
- There is morning tea available after the service
What is the service like?
When you come to this 90 minute service you will have the opportunity to join many other Christians in worshiping our great God by singing contemporary Christian songs lead by our music team, taking communion, praying together and listening to practical Bible teaching that will help you live out your Christian faith in the week to come.
Approximately every 6 weeks we have what is called an “Acoustic Sunday” which still has all the elements above that make up our Sunday Services but is presented in a less structured way with acoustic music and “self-service” communion.
What about the children?
We encourage children to join their family in worship and listening to the teaching of God’s word. During the school terms the children go out partway through the service to their various programmes where they enjoy age appropriate teaching from God’s word, the bible. Please view the Children’s Ministries page for more info.
What should I wear?
Casual clothes are the norm at The Orchard so no need to dress up. In summer, many people wear cooler clothes such as shorts or t-shirts to our programmes. The rest of the year people just wear whatever is comfortable to them. So feel free to leave the suit and tie at home!
What size is the church?
Although our building complex seems large our Sunday Service is attended by approximately 150 adults each week. Despite our size we are often told that we are a friendly welcoming church. We may not always get this right be we do try hard to ensure everyone is made welcome.
Will I be singled out?
At The Orchard you’ll never be put on the spot, never feel forced to give money, and never embarrassed. You don’t have to sign anything or register your attendance in any way. However, we do have a Welcome Pack available which will tell you more about The Orchard and if you choose to fill in the attached feedback form your first barista coffee (or hot drink) is on us!
Can I book a visit?
Yes, you sure can. If you would like to experience our church with a host we encourage you to book a visit online using the form below. A host will then meet you before the service, sit with you during the service and can answer any questions you may have whilst you enjoy a hot barista made drink on us after the service. If you would like a hosted visit this Sunday please fill in the form before 10.00am on Friday, otherwise feel free to book ahead anytime.
What if I want to know more?
We hold regular Newcomers Lunches where you can meet some of our pastors and leaders. This is also a chance to find out about our core foundations, what we as a church are passionate about and have your questions answered. Plus you will meet other newcomers and find out how you can get more involved in the life of The Orchard.
What else is on at The Orchard?
Please check out the different pages under the Ministries heading and also the Events page as we have numerous activities running in the church building during the week.
We know Te Puke is blessed with some excellent churches so you are spoilt for choice but please do feel free to check us out as you search for a church community to call “home”.
