We are committed to the Bible
We have a strong commitment to expository preaching of the Bible, where we teach a paragraph or literary unit in depth, explaining it as clearly as possible, and then practically applying the key truth or idea to life today. We do our best to lead people on a logical, intelligent journey that stimulates and inspires life change.
We cater for the whole family
We want the whole family to love coming to church! At the back of our auditorium, you will find a family zone with tables set up. Don’t feel you have to sit there but your kids may be more comfortable drawing and colouring as we worship.
We also offer Sunday morning children’s programmes for ages 3 – 13 so that their needs are met while you can focus on the service. Child safety is especially important to us which is why we actively monitor Safe Programmes.
What to expect at a typical Sunday service
- A celebration of God’s greatness with contemporary music, communion & a 30-minute message from the Bible
- Greeters on the door & ushers to show you to a seat
- Children’s ministries to cater for their needs with a child safety policy actively monitored
- A free barista made coffee from our church café
- Plenty of parking on site
FAQs
When you come to this 90 minute service, you will have the opportunity to join other Christians in singing contemporary Christian songs led by our music team, taking communion, praying together and listening to practical Bible teaching.
Occasionally we have what is called an “Acoustic Sunday” which still has all the elements above that make up our Sunday Services but is presented in a less structured way with acoustic music and “self-service” communion.
We encourage children to join their family in worship and listening to the teaching of God’s word. During the school terms the children go out partway through the service to their various programmes where they enjoy age appropriate teaching from God’s word, the Bible. Casual clothes are the norm at The Orchard so no need to dress up. In summer, many people wear cooler clothes such as shorts or t-shirts to our programmes. The rest of the year people just wear whatever is comfortable to them. So feel free to leave the suit and tie at home!
Although our building complex seems large our Sunday Service is attended by approximately 150 adults each week. Despite our size we are often told that we are a friendly welcoming church. We may not always get this right be we do try hard to ensure everyone is made welcome.
At The Orchard you’ll never be put on the spot, never feel forced to give money, and never embarrassed. You don’t have to sign anything or register your attendance in any way. However, we do have a Welcome Pack available which will tell you more about The Orchard and if you choose to fill in the attached feedback form your first barista coffee (or hot drink) is on us!
We hold regular Newcomers Lunches where you can meet some of our pastors and leaders. This is also a chance to find out about our core foundations, what we as a church are passionate about and have your questions answered. Plus you will meet other newcomers and find out how you can get more involved in the life of The Orchard.
