Internships

What is CULTIVATE?

Jesus says, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.”

Do you have a heart to be sent into God’s harvest field? Are you looking to be “invested in” so that your life may be effective for God’s work, wherever that may be?

At The Orchard, we are serious about investing in the next generation of leaders. That is why we are serious about CULTIVATE – an intern based program that develops leaders who love God and love people.

Our desire is to cultivate hearts that are growing in personal relationship with God, while stretching you in your leadership, your gifts, character and biblical understanding.

The Orchard is offering a limited number of CULTIVATE internships each year to growing Christians who demonstrate passion, commitment and a desire to grow through responsibility.

Do you have a heart ready to be cultivated? Are you looking for an opportunity to develop life skills, gain confidence through real-life ministry experience and biblical training, and reap the satisfaction of developing through challenge? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

What Can I Do?

We are offering Youth Ministry and Children’s Ministry based internships. The practical, coached aspect of CULTIVATE is complemented through elective specific, compulsory biblical training at Pathways Bible College. In addition to specialised training, CULTIVATE interns will be fully immersed in the ministry of the church, including the everyday running needs outside of your chosen area.

Who Will I Work With?

You will be assigned a ministry supervisor whose objective is to seek your growth. These supervisors will be your ministry coaches.

Youth Ministry Internship: Nelson Schonfeldt, Youth Director
Children’s Ministry Internship: Jodi Wichers, Children’s Ministry Director

Who Can Apply?

We are looking for people aged 17 – 25 inclusive (though we may be open to the right candidate who slightly eclipses this age bracket) who demonstrate a growing relationship with God, a desire to be challenged and a high level of maturity.

Can you commit to a year? Can you see a need and address it? Do you see ministry as an opportunity or an obligation?

There are also prerequisites for Pathways study that must be met in order for you to be eligible for CULTIVATE. More details can be found at www.pathways.ac.nz
